I am reading Numbers and it is rather fascinating to me. I had not remembered that numbers are so important to God. I guess He would be the best banker or accountant the world has ever known. He loved to count and number things, especially people. In fact, through 6 chapters he has only counted people, nothing else. As the 6th chapter comes to an end it is as though God seems to settle back and He speaks a very sweet blessing to His people. In Numbers 6: 24-26, God gives a blessing to His people:
"The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
and be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
and give you peace."
May this blessing be yours today and forever more.
